Frequently Asked Questions:

The Graces Brightening Lotion provides a safe and fairly rapid lightening of the skin. Results will vary from person to person. Most people see a noticeable reduction in pigmentation within eight weeks. Age-spots, sunspots and melasma will still be visible, but less intense. Take note of the overall appearance of your face. Skin tone will be brighter and more evenly balanced.

Pro Tip: We recommend you take before and after photos of your skin (without makeup on). We often don’t notice skin changes that happen slowly over time. Photos will help you to see improvements in your skin that you might otherwise overlook. We recommend that you take the before and after photo in similar light conditions. This will provide a more accurate comparison.

Maintaining results will require ongoing use. You should include The Graces Brightening Lotion in your regular twice-daily skincare routine.

Pigmentation occurs when the skin produces too much melanin (pigment). The cells responsible for producing melanin are called melanocytes. They live in the deeper layer of the skin. Pigmentation occurs when these melanocytes go into over-drive, creating age spots, sunspots, freckles, melasma and hyper-pigmentation.

Common causes of pigmentation are sun exposure, hormonal changes (including going on the contraceptive pill) and ageing. Freckles are genetic and the result of the uneven distribution of melanocytes. They will typically fade over winter and become more pronounced over summer.

Absolutely. Once developed, pigmentation is difficult to get rid of. This is why sun-care is so important. Prevention is easier than cure. The Graces Brightening Lotion will improve existing pigmentation. It will also inhibit melanin production, making it less likely for pigmentation to form. However, it is essential that you wear a pure, eco-conscious sunscreen every day. One day of unprotected exposure to the sun can undo weeks, or even months of pigmentation treatment.
